The sequel to Ridley Scott’s fabled classic follows a young blade runner on his journey across the dystopian wasteland as he tracks down a fellow blade runner, who has been missing for decades. The film stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright, and Jared Leto.

Ghost in the Shell (1995)

Based off the acclaimed manga, Ghost in the Shell follows a cyborg cop who attempts to track down a notorious hacker. The anime was very clearly inspired by the original Blade Runner, but has also influenced many other films itself.

It is directed by Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow), and also stars Domhnall Gleeson, Sarah Wright, and Jesse Plemmons.

The Counselor (2013)

Helmed by Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Gladiator) and scripted by legendary novelist Cormac McCarthy (The Road, No Country for Old Men), The Counselor tells the violent story of a lawyer in love who gets into dealings with the Mexican drug cartel and other merciless criminal figures to build a good life for himself and his wife — but soon must find a safe way out. The film stars Michael Fassbender, Cameron Diaz, Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz, and Javier Bardem.

The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (2015)

Despite its modest box office success, The Man From U.N.C.L.E has seemed to gain some staying power over the last few years. It’s based off the 1960s campy spy series of the same name, and follows a top-tier English agent who is forced to team up with a stubborn Russian spy to take down a common enemy. The film is directed by Guy Ritchie (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword), and stars Henry Cavill (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger), Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl), and Hugh Grant (Notting Hill).

As the couple learns more about the stranger, suspicious activity begins to occur as the wife (Jennifer Lawrence) begins to completely unravel. The film also stars Javier Bardem, Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Crimson Peak (2015)

This supernatural haunted house thriller follows a young woman who marries a newfound love and travels to his family’s home out in the country. But (much like mother!, wink, wink), the woman begins noticing strange things around the house and soon begins to question her husband’s true intentions. The film is directed by Guillermo Del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth), and stars Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston. Jessica Chastain, and Charlie Hunnam.

The Fighter

Directed by the acclaimed David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle), The Fighter tells the true story of boxer Micky Ward (Mark Wahlberg) and his brother Dicky (Christian Bale). It follows the troubled lives of the two men as they try to help each other find success and satisfaction. It also stars Amy Adams (Arrival) and Melissa Leo (Prisoners).
